Year Round Garden

Terms of Use

Last updated: 29 September 2026

Short version: Year Round Garden gives planting dates, reminders and weather alerts worked out from public weather records and university extension advice. They're good estimates, not promises. Weather does what it likes, so keep an eye on your own garden.

Your garden and journal belong to you. Every planting date for every crop stays free.

1. Who we are

Year Round Garden (“YR Garden”, “the app”) is made by CitruSync, a small Florida outfit (“we”, “us”). By using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What the app does, and what it can't

The app works out planting windows from NOAA's 1991–2020 climate normals for the weather station nearest your garden, and from growing guidance published by U.S. university extension services. Rain reports come from NOAA's rain gauges. Weather alerts come from the National Weather Service.

You decide what to plant and when, and you're responsible for your garden.

3. What's free

The app is free to download and use. Planting dates and growing information for every crop, weather alerts, watering advice, the journal, backups and exports stay free: we won't put them behind a payment. Without a subscription you can keep up to 5 plants in your garden, with reminders. Your garden records are yours to export at any time.

4. Subscriptions

The optional Year Round Garden Unlimited subscription lets you keep as many plants as you like in your garden, with reminders for all of them. It's offered yearly (with a free trial for new subscribers) or monthly; the app shows the price in your currency before you buy. These terms apply:

5. Your content

Your plantings, notes, harvests, photos and seed box are yours, and they stay on your phone (see the Privacy Policy). You're responsible for keeping backups: the app can make one at any time. We can't recover data from a lost or reset phone, because we never have a copy.

6. Fair use

Please don't misuse the app or our alerts service: no interfering with it, overloading it, or using it to send anything other than your own gardens' alerts. We may stop serving a phone that does.

7. Other people's content

Weather and climate data come from NOAA and the National Weather Service. Hardiness zones come from the USDA Plant Hardiness Zone Map. ZIP code centres come from the U.S. Census Bureau. These are public-domain U.S. government works. Growing information is summarised from cited university extension publications. Plant photos come from Unsplash photographers under the Unsplash License, credited on each photo.

8. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error-free or always available, or that its dates, advice or alerts will be right for your garden.

9. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for lost crops, plants, harvests, time, data, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using the app or relying on its dates, advice or alerts. Our total liability to you for anything to do with the app is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US$10 if that's more. Some places don't allow these limits, and where they don't, they apply only as far as the law permits.

10. App stores

If you got the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no responsibility for the app, its content, maintenance, support or any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. If you got the app from Google Play, Google Play's terms apply to your use of the store.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, except where the law of the place you live says otherwise. Nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer under the law where you live.

12. Changes

If we change these terms, the new version will be posted here with a new date at the top. If a change affects a paid subscription, the app will tell you first.
